Time Flys

May 27, 2016

We have been on the road for a month. Seems like we just left Evanston and Nashville. Northern New Mexico was great. Several surprise areas that were not in my limited research. I mentioned Valles Caldera in a previous post.  Last week we drove deep into Valle Vidal a beautiful 100,000 acre mountain basin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We were in search of the Elk herds but didn’t find them. I fished on Costia Creek and fantasized that I was Ted Turner who owns Vermejo Park Ranch, 600,000 acres to the north.

We are now in South Central Colorado at Great Sand Dunes National Park. Wish I could say the weather was great. All I can say is that it changes quickly.

The good news is that we are surrounded by tent campers.  So if we start to feel sorry for ourselves we just look out the window.

The snow is gorgeous. I am sure you have a different perspective on that. But hey, I’m from Florida, let me enjoy. The scenery out there is so pretty. So many adventures awaiting around the next bend. Enjoy! And don’t forget about those of us left behind.

Looks like a fantastic time. Have not been getting notifications of new posts, so hadn’t been aware you started up again. That is some weather change! And, NO tent camping for me! You all have a great time!

I had no idea massive dunes existed along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Great pics, Colorado is beautiful!
